Who doesn’t enjoy a good mystery now and then? Well, another mystery picture is on its way with Deadline reporting that Hostiles director Scott Cooper will be directing the crime thriller, The Pale Blue Eyes , which Cooper himself wrote the screenplay for based off the 2006 novel of the same name. In addition Christian Bale will be the leading man, re-teaming with Cooper from his work with him on the 2017 film Hostiles . The Pale Blue Eyes will see Christian Bale portray a seasoned detective investigating a series of murders at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point in 1830. Bale’s detective character will be teamed up with a young Edgar Allan Poe, who if you didn’t know was a very famous poet and mystery writer way back in the day.     It is always interesting to hear what inspires a director to construct a story and bring it to life on the big screen and Cooper reflects on his motivations for wanting to make this kind of film in a statement given to Deadline:  “Even though Edgar

Young Rock 1x02 "On the Road Again" Recap and Review

Image
Last week I reviewed the pilot episode of Young Rock which showed a lot of promise for the comedy and based off the second installment of this series this is just the beginning of a long fun ride. This episode picks up again in an alternate future where Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson is running for President of the United States and his old high school’s library has been renamed after him, the Principal claiming, “they always knew he was destined for greatness”, which we learn as we cut to the Rock himself is a total lie. The Rock continues his series of interviews with the eccentric Randall Park this time inside the newly dedicated library to him as his campaign continues at full speed. The Rock and Randall Park continue their comedic sparring and the two actually have great chemistry with Park portraying himself as an egotistical actor turned news anchor who constantly feels the need to remind the Rock he was an actor to which the Rock responds ,”that yes you’ve actually mentioned

Young Rock Pilot Review

The “Rock” is probably the biggest movie star on the planet right now and recently he just made a splashy debut in the world of sitcoms with his new NBC comedy, Young Rock. Young Rock follows Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in 2032 as he is running for President of the United States as he is being interviewed by actor turned news anchor Randall Park about his formative childhood years that allows the Presidential candidate to relate how he relates to the common man on a deep level. The pilot episode sees the Rock narrating flashbacks to three different time periods in his life simultaneously beginning with a 10-year-old Rock in 1982 who went by the name of Dewy as he lived in Hawaii with his dysfunctional wrestling family, 1987 at the age of 15 as he lived in Pennsylvania where everybody he went to school with thought he was an undercover cop, and finally Miami University in 1990 where the Rock as a college freshmen played football. Young Rock has a lot to juggle in its pilot episode but i

What Will National Treasure 3 Be About?

Image
Is stealing the Declaration of Independence a noble thing to do? Well according to Ben Gates in National Treasure it is when it means keeping an ancient treasure safe from the villainous Sean Bean. Nicholas Cage played Ben Gates, a treasure hunter for lack of a better term who spent his formative years training himself to be prepared to find the ancient treasure his family, the Gates family had been searching for, for generations dating back to 1832. The first film saw Nicholas Cage joined by supporting stars such as Jon Voight as his washed up treasure hunter father, Justin Bartha as his loyal and eccentric sidekick Riley Poole, and Diane Kruger as Dr. Abigail Chase, a woman who is just as passionate about preserving a piece of history as he is. The film is an action-packed adventure with Gates at odds with Sean Bean’s character in the hunt for the ages old historical artifacts. The film spawned a sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets in which Gates has to resort to kidnapping
